This site is dedicated to a rare example of the Mistral Spyder, built as an original right hand drive model with factory made soft top and detachable hard top.
Chassis and Engine number: AM109SA1729
Built: 1968
Body: Frua (constructed predominately in aluminium)
Engine: 6 cylinder 4000cc
There were three engine variants fitted to the Mistral; 3500, 3700 and 4000cc. Mistrals were the last of the Maseratis to have the famous twin-spark 6 cylinder engine, as fitted to the 250F Grand Prix cars that won 8 Grand Prix between 1954 and 1960. The most sought after derivative is the 4000cc model.
120 Mistral Spyders were built in total with very few in right hand drive. This car is widely regarded as being the only Spyder with the 4000 engine. It also comes with the rare and desirable hardtop in addition to its soft top.
